1. Check Call of Duty’s Server Status. If you are experiencing packet bursts or packet loss, the best thing to check first is the server status. Many players will experience wild lag spikes if the servers are having difficulties. Head to the Activision Online Services page to check the server’s status. Merkmusic had the same problem and he saw that on warzone 2.0 it didn’t lag at all so looks like mw22 will be treated just like mw19. I've had the opposite. WZ2 and DMZ supper laggy (not just me, everyone was complaining about lag). Obviously it's the first weekend after the game dropped so this was bound to happen.
0-20ish ping is LAN quality. 30-60ish ping is awesome ping, snipers can shoot ON the target. 60-80 great ping. 80-100 decent ping. 120+ ping, Snipers must LEAD the target, you WILL get killed by "lag" sometimes, "luck" starts to override "skill", the better player WILL lose in 1vs1 fight against a better ping. 150+ ping, quit the game, unplayable.
Stuttering is just maddening, and outright unplayable for me. [RESOLVED] As of COD MW2 Patch 10th November 2022 on Steam, and updating Nvidia Game Ready Drivers to version 526.86 with a Custom/Clean Install, loading up the game and letting the Shaders Optimize to 100%, I no longer seem to have any stuttering issues. 1. Major lag spikes. Is anyone else getting major lag spikes in any mode on MW2? I’ve never had this as an issue on any of the 3 last CODs at the same Internet address, same PC, same Ethernet connection, but all of a sudden I’m getting constant latency spikes from ~20 ping up to 200, and then every now and then even larger spikes to 900/1000 ping. Players suffering from Packet Bursts will see a constant disruption being caused by de-sync, unmistakable lag, and a lot of rubberbanding. When Modern Warfare 2 was launched, many players were sunSf. 176 129 203 606 355 36 332 944
