Clearly states 5w30. Actually, other members of the forum have already dismissed this. So has my BMW dealer. You can use any LL-01 approved oil, the weight doesn't matter. To be approved LL-01 the weight must be 0W-30, 0W-40, 5W-30, 5W-40. Contact any knowledgeable person at BMW and they'll tell you the same thing.

The tranny obviously needs more than one bottle (assuming each bottle is only 1 qt or liter), but you should have ~half a bottle left over. iTrader: ( 0) Well, a quick search on web at various BMW vendor sites all indicate 7 qts. Several say 7 liters which is 7.396 qts. Since an oil/filter change never gets all the oil out, you are good with 7 qts. After all done, drive for 5-10 minutes, let sit for 5 and check oil level. Add if needed, but doubt will be required. The M5's V10 boasts a cubic capacity of 5.0-litres and produces a maximum output of 378kW (507bhp) and a maximum torque of 520 Newton metres, making the M5 the most powerful production model in the BMW line-up.
Common Oil Leak Sources. I have a 2001 330i AT with 83,000 miles. It was leaking oil from the valve cover gasket and I replaced that last night. I thought I fixed the problem until I dropped the engine undertray. The whole engine was pretty well soaked in oil, the power steering tubes, etc. I don't believe it is a power steering leak as it is oil.
