Each character in the base game can choose from five core specializations per profession, while accounts with Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns gain access to one elite specialization for After that the elite specs are unlocked (can be seen by hovering the lock symbol next to the specialization) Reaching level 80 is giving you enough hero points to level everything which unlocks the elite specs. For these you have to farm your 250 hero points. In all possibility we will get an OH weapon. I think it will be either axe or warhorn. Warhorn will be cooler, and goes with the support theme. Pistol/rifle are not likely, cuz they are not thematic with guardian, and we already have 2 ranged weapons. Dagger is not thematic with guardian either, but I though the same regarding warrior and it works.

You can pvp but most meta build use elite specialization and with most classes you will be in disadvantages with only core build.
